Franklin Fishing Club Landscape, acrylic on canvas 18 x 24 inches
I choose to complete this piece in a more realistic style. The landscape around this lake is beautiful and has pathways, benches, docks and many areas where one can relax and enjoy this peaceful atmosphere. I would absolutely love to return in the winter months and complete and work on another painting capturing the lake while it is frozen. I am thankful for my friend Stephanie for giving me this opportunity and for Sarah for kindly paddling the boat while I could soak up the scenery...and sun!
Recently I have had the opportunity to return to my passion which is drawing the human figure and human anatomy. I have completed 6 drawings so far and have 2 more to complete for this project. I will of course continue to explore this subject and once this commission is complete I plan to explore this subject further. Please enjoy these works as I have enjoyed creating them. Male Arm, 2015 Commission for Integrated Training Studios
Algonquin February 2015 Acrylic on canvas
Completed in my home studio after my 7th dog sledding expedition with Chocpaw. Temperatures this year reached -30 degrees and it was by far the coldest I have ever experienced. In this work I was hoping to capture the feeling of the bitter coldness. My eyelashes actually formed ice while sledding making it difficult to see at times.
Northern Summer, 2014 Oil on canvas
This was painted in my home studio after a trip to Kapikog Lake, Ontario in early spring.
